About Galvorn
Galvorn began in 2022 when a handful of neighbours in Dublin 4 wanted a place to stretch, breathe, and talk — without the pressure of a gym or the formality of a clinic. What started as a weekly gathering in a community hall has grown into a welcoming circle of active adults who share a belief that movement and friendship belong together.
Our mission
We create gentle yoga sessions where adults aged 60 and over can move at their own pace, build steady habits, and enjoy the company of people who understand that wellbeing is as much social as it is physical. "Healthy body, calm mind" is not a slogan on our wall — it is how members describe the feeling they take home after class.
Our instructor
Niamh O'Sullivan leads every Galvorn session. A Dublin native with over a decade of teaching experience, Niamh holds a Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification and additional qualifications in chair yoga and movement for older adults. She is known for plain language, patient demonstrations, and a habit of remembering every member's name by the second visit.
Our venue
Classes take place at Unit 4, Riverlee Community Centre on Upper Bagot Street — a bright, step-free space with accessible facilities and a lounge where members gather for tea after each session. The location is easily reached by bus routes along Pembroke Road and Merrion Road.
What we believe
- Wellness should be affordable — €10 per hour, with no contracts
- Small groups create better teaching and stronger friendships
- Yoga is for every body — chairs, props, and rest are always welcome
- Honesty matters — we are a community class, not a medical service
